Whiskey and birds
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy's better half (aka Dearly Beloved aka Adrian) loves whiskey, in particular, the Isle of Jura brand.
Bunty spent longer than usual on the toilet last Sunday morning. Do you want to know why? It's because there were a load of wrens flying about outside.

Mars bars and Guy Henry
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy was absolutely famished yesterday. She told tubby Terry Wogan that she spent the day raiding the fridge, eating several Mars bars.
Guy Henry (he of 'It's Showtime!' fame) is currently trying to sell his car.

Sister, Marsh and listen again
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy said buy The Daily Telegraph today and look at p11. On that page is a photo of a woman who looks like SK's sister, Jane.
Marshypops (aka John Marsh) had to leave his hotel in the middle of last night in his nightie, for a destructive fire had broken out.
You can now 'listen again' to the brilliant SK show via the BBC Radio 2 website.

Swede, sheep and jokes
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy splashed swede all up her walls over the weekend in an attempt to make soup.
Apparently, everytime a sheep bleats, one of its nipples falls off.
Bunty wants more jokes. Send them in. Please.

Streisand, Churchill, Beckham and trailers
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy once bumped into Barbara Streisand whilst filming a Carry On film at Pinewood studios. She's very small.
SK's dad was a massive fan of Sir Winston Churchill. So much so in fact, that when she was a baby he took her to the House of Commons to watch him speak.
Bunty watched Bend It Like Beckham over the weekend and loved it.
Ms K was today wondering why her programme never gets a trailer, like all the other Radio 2 presenters do...

Sir Ian McKellen
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy saw Ian McKellen yesterday, in a play called Aladdin. Apparently he looked a bit like Sally Boazman (aka Sally Traffic)!

Monday blues and Dench
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy had a terrible day yesterday. First of all, her chicken broth exploded, then all her light bulbs went kaput.
SK once had to protect some buns from greedy Dame Judi Dench.

Petula Clark's cosin, fondue, sick notes
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy went to school with Petula Clark's cousin.
SK had a lovely Friday night fondue.
Ms K was talking about excuses for not turning up at work this morning. She said that of the times she's been away, there are only three times when it wasn't down to her health. Here are those excuses:
-- it once so windy, that she couldn't leave the house
-- the BBC security gate wouldn't open
-- she once had to call 999 as there was someone with a balaclava on and bullwhip in her garage

Champagne, bags, sculpture, bedtime and more cat wee
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy cannot stand champagne.
After yesterday's rant about failing to open supermarket bags, a helpful listener contacted the show to say it's best to rub the bags against oneself. That works.
SK's least favourite piece of modern sculpture sits outside Pimlico underground train station.
Ms K went to bed at 8:45pm last night.
As mentioned the other day, one of the cats did a wee in Sarah's shoe. During the week, living in London, these are the only shoes she has!

Problems and nephew
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy has trouble opening up milk cartons, supermarket shopping bags and tin cans.
Sarah's nephew, who has been staying with her for the last five weeks, is finally going to get the chance to have a meal with her shortly.

Morris dancing and necklaces
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy's Xmas present from her boyfriend was an aqua marine necklace.
Apparently, Dearly Beloved (aka Adrian) likes morris dancing -- in the nude!

Straight sausages, cat wee and Dearly Beloved's pants
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy would like to know if there is a machine that allows for sausages to be cooked without becoming bent?
SK's cat did a wee in her shoes the other day.
When Dearly Beloved (aka Adrian) was learning about race horses in college at Newbury, he would get told off by the head groundsman if he was drying his pants on the clothes' line, as it did not create a good impression.

Cooking and Christmas TV
Lessons learned from today's show
Sarah Kennedy loves cooking.
The Kennedy Christmas turkey weighed in at 10 pounds.
SK didn't think too much of the Christmas TV selection. She loved Tom Brown's Schooldays, Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Stocking Silk and something about roman roads, but did not think much of the new Miss Marple dramas.
Unfortunately, SK will be away tomorrow, as she is attending a funeral. But fear not, as she will be back on Monday.

Marmite and the opera
Lessons learned from today's show
Marmite lasts for inifinity.
Sarah Kennedy's nephew (the opera singer), is staying with SK again, as he is rehearsing for the marriage of Figaro.

Early 2005 Christmas present...
... Sarah Kennedy is back! A family emergency temporarily took her off the airwaves before Christmas, so she wishes us all a Happy New Year.
Lessons learned from today's show
SK took Dearly Beloved (aka Adrian and DB) to a panto. He spent all the time leering at Claire Sweeney's legs.
Ms K has never bought a National Lottery ticket.
Sarah's washing machine has broken down.
Because of the emergency, SK couldn't buy DB his requested Christmas present of binoculars. But, she did find the time to buy him a pair of pants with a stallion on the front pouch.
