Update

Sarah, doing what she does best
Aled Jones will be off air soon (he's "filling in" for Wogan next week, or Bruce, one of the two) and SK will return. Sarah Kennedy is recovering from pneumonia and hopes to be back on the Dawn Patrol soon. She wants to thank everyone who has contacted the show to wish her well.

Meanwhile, here is a lovely new website all about Sarah:

why doesn't aled jones get his own show instead of creeping in and taking advantage of other people when they have pneumonia?

My sentiments entirely! preferably on a station outside this country, then I would have to be forced to listen to his whiny gay little voice.

My sympathies and very best wishes to Sarah as she recovers from her pneumonia. I'm sure she would rather be in her chair in the studio than being so ill at home, but in her absence it's lovely to hear Aled Jones very kindly and capably looking after her programme.

In addition to his renowned singing career,(check for dates of his concerts at www.aledjones.co.uk) Aled is the consummate presenter on his own inspirational BBC Radio 2 programme, "Good Morning Sunday" every week, from 7am-9am, (the third-highest rating programme on a Sunday) and for several months of the year, Aled can also be heard on BBC Radio Wales on Sundays at 10am for his bright and enjoyable chat show. Quite often he presents "Friday Night is Music Night" on Radio 2 as well.

Congratulations Aled...you're doing a wonderfully entertaining job on the Dawn Patrol and I'm sure Sarah very much appreciates your kindness in taking such good care of her show at short notice, as she recovers.

Susie.

Sarah has had a very severe case of pneumonia and is taking time to recover her strength. Particularly with the antibiotics being so strong. The earliest that she will be back on air is 3rd September, but it could be a further week. She is intensely grateful for all te kind words and wishes from her listeners and friends.

What a stupid comment the first one is. Aled's got more than enough shows of his own, thanks, as Susie said (and she omitted his radio 3 programme and also presenting some of the Proms); so - to be accused of "taking advantage of someone with pneumonia"?!!! What world do these contributors live in?

He was asked to stand in when Sarah was taken ill and did, end of. When she is well again, presumably she will be back, meanwhile he has done what he was asked to do, and someone else has taken over for this week. Thank goodness there are other presenters around and able to take over at short notice when the regular presenter is not well.
