Get well soon SK!

Richard Allinson tried to stand in today. At least the BBC didn't invite Aled Jones back.

SK's ill

They would have had a job inviting Aled back - he's on holiday in the Caribbean!

Whats up, afraid that Aled would do a better job and get SK the sack?. I do hate people who feel they have to knock the work of other artists..its totally uncalled for.

Both Richard Allinson and Lynn Parsons both knock Aled Jones into Cocked Hats! Why in god's name did the director of radio 2 (Lesley Douglas) give them the boot from a regular show. Both Richard and Lyn stated that it was their choice to leave, but they couldn't really say anything else.
They were fantastic on the Late Night Radio 2 slot and at the weekends. Mark Radcliffe's style of show and music isn't to my taste.

So it's acceptable and sympathized with when Sarah is very unfortunately ill, but when Aled was unexpectedly struck down with illness and regretably unable to present her programme as scheduled some months back, all he received from you Debby was sarcastic criticism. Double standards are very unbecoming Debby.

Aled has a very busy working life in his own right, is very much in demand in a great many circles and gives a lot of himself. He would no doubt have generously offered, or at the very least, willingly accepted the request to stand in for Sarah. Your comments are sadly ill-conceived and as another blogger has said, totally uncalled for. Aren't favours given, usually thanked?

I wonder how Sarah perceives someone (who obviously wants to support her) making such unnecessary derogatory remarks about her work colleagues? I'd have thought a true supporter wouldn't stoop to such depths.

I do wish Sarah a very speedy recovery and sincerely hope she isn't too poorly in the process.

If anyone sacks Sarah, they need their head looking at. She's the only presenter on radio 2 that has such a soothing and gentle voice, its a pleasure to wake up to it in the morning.
It just shows the nonsense people were talking on the R2 messageboard, when they said she would be given the boot back in 2004. 3 years on and she's still going strong.
If Sarah K is booted from the station, I'll leave it too!

Aled Jones is a useless piece of sh1t! He pretends to be a religious person, with deep christianity values and then goes off to the carribean for his holiday! Doesn't that speak voulumes?
The soonest people see him for the fraud he really is, the better!

Sorry, I don't understand. Why should a Christian not go to the Caribbean for his holidays?

Aled's had a very bad couple of months with his badly torn Achilles heel and DVT, and no doubt needs a break, as indeed he takes every year about this time(and as Sarah took recently)

It is interesing how much more courteous and thoughtful, with no use of unpleasant language, are those who enjoy Aled, than those who seem to wish to deride him all the time. That in itself says a lot.

I fail to comprehend why this criticism of Aled Jones exists, on this Blog site or indeed anywhere at all. Perhaps Debby and your fellow critics could explain the basis for your remarks? It's clear that you don't know Aled or anything about him, or you wouldn't be making such scurrilous, unjustified, comments.

Aled's scheduled presence on Sarah's show (which as previously mentioned, was inadvertently prevented by illness on his part) and then his subsequent placement when Sarah was on holidays, was a favour to her by him as a work colleague.
It has never been inferred by any of Aled's supporters, or the BBC, that Sarah's position on her show was under threat by Aled's (or anyone else's, for that matter) sitting-in for her in her absences.

Sarah is obviously well-loved by her supporters, works very hard and does a sterling job, but you're surely not suggesting that she must work 52 weeks a year, foregoing all well-deserved holidays, or must battle on and come to work when she is unwell, just so her fans won't miss her presence on air?

In so many fields of work, eg teaching, nursing and medical practices etc, when the key person is absent for whatever reason, relief staff, agency nurses or locums are called upon. The presence of a broadcaster on a radio programme is as indispensible as these roles and temporary replacements are of course necessary. These breaks for Sarah obviously require someone to present her show and logical, rational thought would confirm that that her 'ownership' of that show is in no way jeopardised by that need.

Slanderous remarks against another person does not elevate the profile or worthiness of a more favoured one. Sarah has the esteem and respect of her followers and the public already, so denigrating Aled so undeservedly in an attempt to promote Sarah's image may actually harm her, through having followers who plainly cannot discern the difference between support for her, and causing her embarrassment.

The notion that Christians shouldn't holiday in places such as the Caribbean, defies all logic. Being a Christian does not automatically dictate a compulsory holiday in a monastic retreat! Aled is a loving, Christian, family man who is currently enjoying quality family time on holidays with his wife and children.
He is also a warm, friendly, generous man who would not have a malicious, unkind word to say about anyone. An admirable example to follow, I believe.

Aled Jones is a fake. He isn't religious, he couldn't give a damn about religion. He's the ideal C list celeb for "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here".
But poor fools like you believe in him and worship him like a God. Aled is a nobody, with no passion for his spots on religious radio and TV. Anything that gets him exposure is acceptable by him.
Steer clear of the fraudster! and listen and take notice of a genuine presenter in the name of Sarah Kennedy!

"Aled is a loving, Christian, family man who is currently enjoying quality family time on holidays with his wife and children."

Who are you trying to kid. He's sitting there on the beach having a good laugh at us fools paying the extortionate BBC licence fee so to**ers like him can live the highlife.
As Sir Terry Wogan regularly pipes up "It's not your BBC, you just pay for it!" Truer words were never spoken!
